At Air Liquide Canada, if there’s one coated electrode we’re particularly proud of, it’s the 7018! This product, which has always lived up to its reputation, has been the number one choice of welders for decades.

When we began producing coated electrodes in 1947 at our Montreal plant, our employees didn’t know that over sixty years later the 7018 would have gained so much recognition in the Canadian market.

This success is explained by constant production improvements and great attention to quality. The plant’s 45 employees are particularly proud to have obtained ISO 9001:2008 certification (renewed continuously since 1994).

Innovation is also important in manufacturing. The packaging line, metal cutting, powder weighing and mixing have been automated in recent years.
